FACTS

The Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) , University of Delhi made a modest beginning with a three year part-time Post graduate management programme in Business Administration for senior and middle level executives in 1954.

The first set of professors was trained at the Stanford University Business School and institute was started at the Delhi School of Economics under the leadership of Prof A. Dasgupta.

FMS is the founder member of the Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA) and is working towards regional cooperation in management education and development in the spirit of SAARC.

FMS is also one of the participating institutions in the India-EEC Exchange and Co-operation Programme for Management Professors.
Shanti Prasad Jain Advanced Management Research Center as a research and development wing of FMS has been setup at the University of Delhi, South Campus with assistance from Bennett Coleman & Company Limited.

Curriculum

The institute offers various MBA programme with specialisation in various fields.
The applications for the admission to these PG program are invited in month of September/ October every year. The eligible candidates are called for a written test followed by group discussion and an interview. The admission test for various courses is held in various centre throughout the country.
A number of institutional scholarship are available to the students of MBA full time programme and a few leading corporate houses (the number are likely to increase) offer scholarship to the meritorious students.

Masters of Business Administration (MBA)
2 years, full time programme. The eligibility condition for admission to the course is at least a 3 years bachelor's degree after 12 years of schooling in any discipline with a minimum 50 percent in aggregate. Candidates appearing in final year of their graduation may also apply.

Masters in Business Administration (MBA)
3-year part time programme. The eligibility condition for admission to the course is a bachelor degree with 45 percent in aggregate and the candidate should also have at least three years experience as an executive or administrator in an establishment after passing the bachelor degree.

Masters in Business Administration (MBA) (Public Systems Management)
2 year full time programme.The eligibility condition for admission is that the candidate must have secured 50 percent in aggregate in bachelor degree; in addition the candidate shall be working in a public systems organisation and shall have full time experience at the executive level.

Masters in Business Administration (MBA) (Health Care Administration)
3 Year part time programme. The eligibility condition for admission is the candidate must possess bachelor degree in medicine and he should have atleast 5-year experience in Hospital Administration.
Doctoral Programme
Ph.D. degree by University of Delhi in different areas of management. In addition several doctoral students of the other universities in India and abroad visit FMS to seek guidance.
